Madhubala
Born Mumtaz Jehan Begum Dehlavi on February 14, 1933, in Delhi, Madhubala is remembered as one of the most beautiful and talented actresses in Indian cinema history. She started as a child artist before becoming a leading star in the late 1940s.
Her rise to fame began with Mahal (1949). She later starred in memorable films such as Mr. & Mrs. ’55, Howrah Bridge, Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, and Barsaat Ki Raat. Her greatest achievement came with Mughal-e-Azam (1960), where she portrayed Anarkali, a performance still regarded as legendary.
Despite suffering from a congenital heart condition, she continued acting until her health deteriorated. She passed away at the age of 36, leaving behind a timeless legacy.
