During the trailer launch of the highly anticipated film “Do Patti,” Kanika Dhillon, the talented writer, shared an intriguing behind-the-scenes story about the meticulous casting process. She revealed that Kriti Sanon, the renowned actress, personally auditioned with the final 10 candidates to select the perfect fit for the crucial role of the male protagonist. Ultimately, the role was secured by the talented actor Shaheer Sheikh.
Recollecting the experience, Kanika shared, “Kriti was like, ‘For the last ten rounds, I wanted to audition with ten people.’ And those last 10 candidates, Kriti herself auditioned with each one of them, repeatedly performing the scene. This made some of the candidates understandably nervous, as they were being auditioned by Kriti herself!”
In response to Kanika’s comments, Kriti explained, “To be honest, I think it was crucial to find the perfect Dhruv for the role, as the character has many intricate layers. The chemistry had to work in a specific way, and I’m glad we went through the audition process. While auditioning with him, I could sense that the chemistry was working, and he embodied the various shades of the character exceptionally well.”
Featuring stellar performances by Kajol, Kriti Sanon, and Shaheer Sheikh in pivotal roles, “Do Patti” is an enthralling mystery thriller set against the backdrop of a picturesque hill station. The intriguing twist in the story is Kriti’s portrayal of twin sisters. Directed by the talented Shashanka Chaturvedi and written by the brilliant Kanika Dhillon, the film also stars Tanvi Azmi and Brijendra Kala in important roles. Notably, “Do Patti” marks Kriti’s debut as a producer and is scheduled to premiere online from October 25th.
