The final rites of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and three-time MLA Baba Siddique, who was shot dead late Saturday, were performed with full state honors on Sunday night. Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde ordered for state honours as Siddique had served as a minister in the Maharashtra Cabinet from 2004 to 2008. Meanwhile, the Mumbai police have confirmed the involvement of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in Siddique’s killing.
