Balraj Sahni

Balraj Sahni was born on May 1, 1913, in Rawalpindi. Before entering films, he worked as a teacher and writer. His intellectual background helped him bring extraordinary realism to his performances.

He is best remembered for Do Bigha Zamin (1953), Kabuliwala (1961), and Garam Hawa (1973). His portrayal of ordinary people facing social and economic hardships earned him immense respect.

Balraj Sahni’s naturalistic acting style influenced generations of actors and remains highly admired today.
