Ashok Kumar, affectionately known as “Dadamoni,” was born on October 13, 1911. He was among the earliest superstars of Indian cinema and played a crucial role in modernizing acting styles.

His notable films include Achhut Kanya (1936), Kismet (1943), Mahal (1949), and Aashirwad (1968). He introduced a natural acting style that differed greatly from the theatrical performances common during the early years of Indian cinema.
