Dilip Kumar
Born Muhammad Yusuf Khan on December 11, 1922, in Peshawar, Dilip Kumar is widely regarded as one of the greatest actors in Indian cinema. He introduced a realistic acting style that influenced generations of performers. His emotional performances earned him the title “Tragedy King.”
His notable films include Andaz (1949), Deedar (1951), Devdas (1955), Naya Daur (1957), Mughal-e-Azam (1960), and Ram Aur Shyam (1967). His role as Prince Salim in Mughal-e-Azam remains one of Bollywood’s most celebrated performances.
Dilip Kumar received the Padma Bhushan, Dadasaheb Phalke Award, and Padma Vibhushan. He was also honored with Pakistan’s highest civilian award, Nishan-e-Imtiaz.
